Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.

• Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.

• Decontaminate equipment and update patient information.

• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.

• Explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections clearly and courteously.

• Demonstrate techniques using straight and/or butterfly needles.

Required

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.

• Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.

• High School Diploma or GED.

• 2-4 years of experience.

Work Environment

• The work hours are from 6 AM to 6/7 PM with an 8-hour shift from Monday to Friday, and a rotating Saturday schedule from 6 AM to 12 PM.

• The role requires traveling between Valpo, LaPorte, and Knox, IN, with Valpo as the home base.

• Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel. The future goal is to consolidate work to one site

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valparaiso, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
