Job Summary and Qualifications

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participating in staff meetings and ongoing education requirements.
  • Administering safe oxygen therapies as per protocols.
  • Conducting non-invasive monitoring, including SpO2 via pulse oximetry and various studies.
  • Delivering therapy modalities as ordered by physicians.
  • Administering VEST therapy and managing CPAP/Bi-Level setups.
  • Performing arterial punctures and maintaining blood gas quality control.
  • Responding to emergency situations and participating in code blue interventions.
  • Administering mechanical ventilation and assisting in bronchoscopies.
  • Precepting new staff and conducting bedside spirometry and metabolic testing.

Education

  • Graduation from an accredited vocational school in Respiratory Therapy is required.
  • An Associate's Degree is preferred.

Experience

  • One year of critical care experience is required.
  • Experience in NICU/PICU is preferred.

Licensure/Certification

  • Must be a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Maintain NBRC credentials for Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • BLS certification is required.
