Join Our Team as a Surgical Technologist I
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the operating room? At Advocate Health, we are looking for dedicated Surgical Technologists to enhance patient care in our innovative and dynamic environment. We are proud to serve our community at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, the largest hospital in Wisconsin.
Shift Details: Full-time, evening shift, with 8 or 10-hour options. Monday to Friday with on-call duties predominantly overnight (5-8 call slots) and 1-2 weekend call slots every 8 weeks. Arrival for on-call shifts is required within 30 minutes.
Compensation: Competitive salary ranging from $26.10 to $39.15 per hour, plus eligibility for a $10,000 sign-on bonus with relocation assistance and a $2,000 sign-on bonus specifically for PM shifts.
Major Responsibilities:
- Ensure a clean, safe, and efficient surgical setting, applying aseptic techniques in preparing materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Assist with various procedures while maintaining knowledge of different surgical techniques.
- Set up the operating room for each case, ensuring all equipment is functioning and properly arranged.
- Act as a Second Assistant during surgeries as needed.
- Communicate effectively with staff about any equipment or supply issues.
- Transport patients, equipment, and supplies, maintaining patient safety.
- Maintain specialty carts and ensure they are stocked and ready for use.
- Demonstrate understanding of age-specific patient care needs.
Licensure and Education:
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months.
- Completion of an accredited program in Surgical Technology is essential.
