Workday Systems Specialist

The Workday Systems Specialist plays a crucial role in the Technology Group, focusing on enhancing and maintaining agilon health's Workday platform, particularly within the HCM and Financials modules. This position is vital for ensuring system reliability, data integrity, and optimal performance. We are looking for a candidate who not only possesses strong technical skills in Workday configuration and security administration but also understands operational business processes. As a Workday Systems Specialist, you will work closely with HR, Finance, Audit, and IT teams to implement technology solutions that streamline workflows, enhance data quality, and facilitate informed strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

System Administration & Support (60%)

  • Manage, configure, and maintain Workday HCM and Financials modules.
  • Document system configuration changes following change management protocols.
  • Oversee tenant management operations, including configuration migrations, tenant refreshes, and release management.
  • Perform security administration tasks, managing security groups, role assignments, and ensuring compliance with IT governance policies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration (30%)

  • Act as a bridge between Technology, Finance, HR, Audit, and other departments to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with HRIS, Payroll, and Finance to analyze semi-annual release features, assisting with impact assessment and rollout planning.

Reporting & Integrations (10%)

  • Create and maintain custom reports/dashboards for various business stakeholders.
  • Support Workday integrations with third-party systems like benefit providers and banking interfaces.
  • Regularly monitor and troubleshoot integrations to ensure seamless operation.
  • Manage integration schedules, reports, and alerts.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of overall experience, including 3-6 years administering or implementing Workday (HCM and/or Financials).
  • Thorough understanding of Workday security and business process frameworks.
  • Experience with Workday integration tools (EIBs and Packaged Integrations).
  • Familiarity with change management, release testing, and governance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of IT Audit procedures, including User Access Reviews and Change Monitoring.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expertise in Workday HCM Modules.
  • Experience with Core HCM, Advanced Compensation, Talent Optimization, Learning.
  • Proficient in Workday Studio, BIRT, and Composite Reporting.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage complex configurations and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
