We are seeking a talented Mid-Level Android Development Engineer to join our innovative team This role involves software engineering in an Agile environment, contributing to the development of prototype robotic systems for live training exercises.

Travel: 10-15%
Clearance: An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required. Applicants selected will undergo a security investigation and must fulfill eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is necessary to obtain clearance.

Requirements:

  • Must be a United States Citizen.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Python software development.
  • Strong understanding of Android software and application development.
  • Ability to document software source code, specifications, and manuals accurately.
  • Experience with modeling/simulations, interface coding, TCP/IP, and serial communications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative team player who can effectively present results to government and contractor personnel.
  • Ability to thrive in a flexible and dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Write, troubleshoot, and support Python software, predominantly for ROS2 (Robot Operating System).
  • Design and develop advanced applications for the Android platform.
  • Participate as an Agile Scrum team member, ensuring ongoing software development and maintenance for software delivery.
  • Enhance understanding of various robotic systems.
  • Support all aspects of the system development lifecycle with a focus on software development, including analysis, requirements definition, design, coding, development, and unit testing.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with developing and supporting live mobile applications for Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) systems.
  • Familiarity with ROS2.
  • C++ development experience, especially for performance-critical code.
  • Experience developing software for Ubuntu.
  • Willingness to travel to support field test events.
  • Comfortable collaborating with a team and interfacing with external entities.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new requirements.
  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Git and GitLab.
  • Familiarity with Hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) and Software-in-the-loop (SWIL) testing.

Education: A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline from an accredited institution is essential.

Compensation: Compensation is determined by numerous factors, such as experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies. The projected annual compensation range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range and is just a component of the total compensation package offered by SimVentions.
