General Responsibilities:

• Analysis: Identify business challenges and discover opportunities for improvement through detailed analysis, leading to strategic or tactical recommendations.
• Product Development: Conduct modeling and analytics to support new product initiatives and pricing strategies across a range of lending products.
• Marketing Support: Aid in direct-to-consumer marketing efforts for selected products and strategic initiatives for retail distribution. Create targeted insights to enhance customer experiences and support groundbreaking technology and concepts aligned with new market strategies.
• Credit Risk Management: Drive significant enhancements in credit performance by establishing connections between future consumer credit trends and historical behaviors. Develop risk models and rigorously test relevant hypotheses through monitoring and analysis.
• Execution: Implement problem-solving frameworks, develop and test hypotheses, analyze solutions, assess operational feasibility, lead implementation efforts, and design a monitoring plan.
• Partnership Development: Collaborate with various teams across Capital One, including IT, Sales, Operations, and Finance, to improve quality, volume, service, and profitability.
• Strategic and Analytical Thinking: Demonstrate a strong background in decision-making and problem-solving through analytics. Your conceptual thinking must be complemented by a quantitative orientation, essential given the analytic foundations of our marketing and credit risk management.
• Leadership and Integrity: Exhibit strong business judgment as a perseverant decision-maker, bringing a healthy and responsible approach to business challenges.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering).
• At least 1 year of experience in analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Business or a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering.
• 1+ years of experience building statistical models.
• 1+ years of experience conducting market research.
• 1+ years of experience with SQL querying.
• 2+ years of experience in business analysis.
• 1+ years of experience in consulting.
