Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide professional nursing care for residents in long-term care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. The LPN will demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles specific to the care of residents in a clinical setting, ensuring compliance with age and population-specific standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing and documenting residents' health, comfort, and safety.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Offering technical support to healthcare professionals.
- Documenting resident interactions and care outcomes.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with residents and team members.
- Communicating clearly while maintaining confidentiality.
- Counseling residents and families on care and prevention strategies.
- Performing additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse; an Associate degree is preferred.
- If required for IV therapy skills, completion of an approved IV Therapy course is necessary.
- Must have undergone supervised clinical experience across the lifespan or have a minimum of 400 hours of LPN experience in another facility.
- Possession of an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license; multi-state licensure is a plus.
- Commitment to ongoing education and competency training.
