Join Our Team as a Pump Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pump Technician who will play a crucial role in providing exceptional pumping and disposal services for both residential and commercial non-hazardous waste. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to interact directly with our valued customers while ensuring their satisfaction with our services.

Key Points of the Position:

  • Role: Pump Technician
  • Location: Boone, NC
  • License Required: CDL A or B with Tanker Endorsement
  • Shift: Day Shift
  • Starting Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 hourly, commensurate with experience

Responsibilities Include:

  • Commit to safety protocols and best practices according to Wind River Environmental and DOT regulations.
  • Prepare for service jobs for optimum efficiency through pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, tools, and supplies.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and satisfaction on-site during service interactions.
  • Identify issues with septic component systems and suggest necessary maintenance or adjustments to clients.
  • Complete and submit service paperwork promptly and accurately.
  • Respond swiftly to urgent service calls and emergencies.
  • Engage in discussions with customers about adequate maintenance frequency.
  • Adhere to Wind River Environmental’s service protocols and additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

  • You will regularly encounter outdoor weather conditions and non-hazardous fumes.
  • Must be comfortable working independently while engaging with customers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Ability to read and understand documents, including policies, safety rules, and maintenance instructions.
  • Strong communication skills for effective cooperation with customers and colleagues.
  • Able to manage tasks independently and perform under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Basic computer skills, including email and internet usage.
  • Proficiency in basic math skills.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Current Class A or B CDL, with willingness to obtain a tanker endorsement if necessary.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and have one year of professional commercial driving experience.
  • Capability to pass a DOT drug screen, medical examination, and road tests.
  • High School Diploma.
