Salary Range: $83,200.00 - $93,184.00
As a Registered Professional Nurse, you will assess, coordinate, plan, direct, implement, and manage the needs of assigned patients throughout their care journey, ensuring optimal progress towards discharge and seamless transitions within their acute care stay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement physician orders and administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, and document care as required.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions effectively.
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluate patient needs and responses to care given.
- Use sound nursing judgment to manage patient care decisions.
- Provide immediate and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to develop tailored Plans of Care for each patient.
- Direct and guide auxiliary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited professional nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license.
- Certification in BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC, with a commitment to maintaining these credentials.
- 1-3 years of relevant clinical nursing experience in an Emergency Department, preferably in a large academic Level I Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center.
- Strong commitment to continued education for professional growth.
- Knowledge of quality improvement concepts and a demonstrated ability to apply them in nursing practice.
The Emergency Department is a Level I Trauma Center, serving as a regional referral center for diverse patients needing acute care. Our facility operates 24/7, offering a total of 45 rooms, including zones for major trauma, critical care, pediatrics, and rapid care. We are equipped with specialized areas including a dedicated radiology suite, DECONTAMINATION suite, and a satellite lab.
