Responsibilities

Primary Care Physician Summary

Provide comprehensive primary and preventive health care by diagnosing and treating various medical conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality medical services to the patients of CCHC across all areas necessary for effective healthcare.
  • Manage patients presenting with urgent care needs by stabilizing them and referring them when necessary, regardless of their usual care category.
  • Conduct examinations, administer treatments, and assist in triaging patients assigned to CCHC.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate patient records adhering to medical standards and specific record-keeping requirements.
  • Address patient non-compliance by identifying root causes and reducing barriers to adherence, considering Social Determinants of Health (SDoH). Complete administrative tasks as mandated by the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing, board certifications, and admitting privileges for the hospital where patients are admitted.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation as scheduled by the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Supervise Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in your specialty and ensure compliance with state regulations.
  • Stay informed about and follow office policies and procedures.
  • Engage in quality assurance activities and cooperate during audits needed for compliance or program requirements.
  • Keep management informed about any matters affecting practice operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.
Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience

  • Graduate from an accredited medical school with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program.
  • Board certification or eligibility in your specialty field.
  • Unrestricted medical practice license in California.
  • Valid DEA registration.
  • PALS, NRP, or ACLS certifications may be necessary.

Patient Interaction Expectations

  • Greet patients by name as they arrive.
  • Personalize the patient's experience to foster connection.
  • Establish the appointment agenda at the outset.
  • Clearly communicate the plan and next steps to each patient.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of medical principles, diagnostic procedures, and healthcare practices.
  • Capable of maintaining required licenses, CME, and certifications.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex medical information clearly to non-medical audiences.
  • Strong analytical abilities to evaluate symptoms, interpret test results, and recommend appropriate treatments.
  • Sound medical judgment, ethical practice, and awareness of personal limitations; consult with others when needed.
  • Stay updated with the latest medical advancements and techniques.
  • Effectively manage patient caseloads, aiming for a minimum of 24 patients per day while addressing emergencies.
  • Ensure efficient patient care with a commitment to punctuality.
  • Problem-solving skills to navigate obstacles impacting patient care and operations.
  • Strong documentation, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in leveraging resources and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience working in a high-functioning, team-oriented environment with a strong work ethic.
  • Build and nurture positive relationships with colleagues and management.
  • Proficient in computer use, including Microsoft Outlook and adaptable to new technologies.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills, with respect for cultural and social diversity.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, including state and federal oversight.
  • Exhibit flexibility, enthusiasm, and cooperation in multidisciplinary contexts.
  • Willingness to travel and participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Salary and Benefits

Salary Rate: $300-330k/yr
