Schedule Details:
A $10,000 SIGN-ON BONUS ELIGIBLE with distance-based relocation available, and a $2,000 SIGN-ON BONUS for PM Shifts. Join our incredible OR team at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, Wisconsin's largest hospital and home to a 24/7 on-site heart-care team. Be part of innovative patient care, recognized nationally across various medical specialties in a compassionate environment.

Hours: Full-time evening shifts, 8 or 10 hours, Monday to Friday, with call duty including overnight and weekend coverage about 5-8 slots per 8-week scheduling window. Must arrive within 30 minutes for call.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Create a sterile and efficient environment for optimal patient care. Utilize aseptic techniques to prepare materials and equipment for surgical procedures.
  • Develop a basic knowledge of a variety of surgical procedures.
  • Ensure the operational efficiency and safety of the operating room; set up and break down equipment as needed.
  • Assist surgical staff as a second assistant when necessary.
  • Notify staff about equipment and supply issues promptly.
  • Transport patients, equipment, and supplies safely.
  • Maintain specialty carts, ensuring all items are in working condition and sterile.
  • Demonstrate understanding of care tailored to the specific age of patients.

Licensure and Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required within 6 months.

Education:
Completion of an accredited surgical technology program is required.

Experience:
No experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to utilize aseptic techniques, understand equipment used in the OR, excellent customer service skills, and basic computer proficiency.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to handle a fast-paced and stressful environment, lift up to 50 lbs, push and pull equipment, and perform various physical activities throughout the shift. Protective gear is needed due to exposure to hazards in the operating room.
