Job Responsibilities
- Conduct a range of clinical laboratory tests-spanning chemistry, hematology, immunology, and beyond-in adherence to established protocols.
- Thoroughly analyze test results to ensure precision, troubleshoot any discrepancies, and perform routine maintenance and calibration on laboratory equipment.
- Assist in specimen collection and preparation for subsequent testing as necessary.
- Diligently document all procedures, mentor new staff or students, and support the maintenance of laboratory quality standards.
- Uphold a clean and safe laboratory environment while adhering to all regulatory and accreditation guidelines.
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, or a relevant allied health field, plus preparation for ASCP/AMT certification.
- ASCP or AMT Board of Certification in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) must be obtained within one year of hire.
- Ongoing maintenance of current certification is required throughout employment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to facilitate effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Able to exercise independent judgment and creatively solve problems in high-pressure situations.
- Outstanding organizational skills and keen attention to detail, particularly regarding quality control and documentation processes.
