Job Description
Job Title: Polysomnographer / Sleep Tech
Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience
License: California License
Certifications: RPSGT, RCP, BLS (AHA or ARC)

Must-Have:
Flu vaccination (no declination/no exemption)
First-time travelers are accepted

Description:
Works under direct clinical supervision of the sleep medicine physician to prepare sleep studies.
Supports patients with positive airway pressure-related issues and conducts polysomnogram scoring.
Oversees home sleep study logistics and sets up and scores home sleep testing devices.
Collects, analyzes, and integrates patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs.
Determines final testing parameters and procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols.
Explains procedures and orients patients for sleep testing.
Selects and calibrates equipment for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments as necessary.
Applies electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards.
Performs data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free.
Identifies, corrects, and documents artifacts.
Documents routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events.
Facilitates scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results.
Performs patient education and instruction appropriate for sleep testing.
