THE JOB
We are seeking a Regional Sales Director (RSD) - SLED to lead and drive sales efforts across the North and South Central regions. Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, this role is ideal for a player/coach-a sales leader who is equally skilled at managing a team and personally engaging with key SLED accounts.
The Regional Sales Director will manage and mentor a team of 4 SLED Account Managers and 4 Sales Engineers, developing strategy, overseeing execution, and maintaining direct customer relationships. This is a hands-on sales leadership position, responsible for delivering aggressive revenue targets through the sale of Network Performance Monitoring (NPM), Application Performance Monitoring (APM), Network Observability, and Network Security solutions. The RSD will work closely with SLED customers to identify opportunities, build trust, and expand the company's footprint within the territory.
This position requires frequent travel within the region and the candidate must be based in the Chicago area.
THE QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate is a dynamic and results-driven sales leader with deep experience in IT software sales, particularly in the network observability and security space, and a strong understanding of SLED markets. Key qualifications include:
- 10-15 years of IT sales experience (Service Assurance, Cybersecurity, Database, Networking, or Big Data) with a consistent record of exceeding revenue targets.
- 4-6+ years of leadership experience, managing Account Managers and Sales Engineers in high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated success in selling NPM, APM, and Network Observability or Security solutions to SLED customers.
- Proven ability to build and maintain executive-level relationships with decision-makers across state, local, and education sectors.
- Strong solution-selling and consultative sales skills, with the ability to ask insightful, value-driven questions.
- Track record of accurate forecasting, territory planning, and strategic execution.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing internal stakeholders and executive-level customers.
- A hands-on, player/coach mindset-equally comfortable leading teams and engaging directly with customers.
- A growth-oriented leader with a positive attitude and passion for driving results.

- Base Salary: $175,000 - $200,000
- On-Target Earnings: $350,000 - $400,000
