Resonant Sciences LLC has an immediate opening for a Technical Support Specialist to join our Dayton, Ohio team. The position provides an opportunity to join a fast-paced elite team whose primary mission is to support our Nation's War Fighters. The candidate for this position shall be a self-starter who can work independently, unsupervised, and with little guidance. The candidate will have an opportunity to be a member of a world-class team consisting of talented and dedicated engineers, technicians, and professionals who work together to interrupt and challenge the status quo to design and develop state-of-the-art technologies.
Responsibilities- Install, configure, service, repair, and maintain information technology systems in both a stand-alone and client-server environment.
- Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the organization and ensure that system hardware, operating systems, and software systems are fully operational.
- Responsible for media control, virus scanning, and hardware and software control.
- Install and maintain workstation and server hardware, software, and peripheral components, and must know about operating systems, including Windows, Windows Server.
- May be required to interact with internal and external customers or Government security officials to perform security duties; address routine information security matters with employees regarding issues and other duties as required.
- Ability to directly support 200+ end-users (including a variety of high-level executives/clients).
- Independently troubleshoot hardware/software/configuration/technical issues (received via issue tracking system, email, phone, or in-person), resolving to client satisfaction in an appropriate time frame.
- Provide installation & configuration support of Wireless Access Points, Switches, Battery Backup Units, Workstations, Mobile Devices (phones / tablets), Local and Network based Printers independently.
- Configure, Administer, Troubleshoot, and Manage: Network Attached Storage (e.g. Synology), Centrally Managed Anti-Virus Technologies (e.g. Defender), Common network services such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
- Provide exceptional service while adhering to appropriate response times.
- Document configuration additions, changes, and revisions in a timely and thorough manner.
- Maintain confidentiality, integrity, & security of clients data by adhering to security standards.
- Support team with client installation assistance and client-related projects.
- Contribute to team effort by participating in team meetings and sharing technical knowledge.
- Collaborate and communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders, including teammates, clients, and 3rd party vendors.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
- BS/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science, or relevant field.
- Five (5) + years experience in a customer-facing/client-service role within a computer/network support environment.
- Must possess or have ability to obtain DoD 8570 compliant certification.
- Relevant experience supporting technology users on Windows (10/11), O365, SharePoint, Azure and other Microsoft-related technologies.
- Exposure to supporting Azure environments, MS Active Directory (hybrid), MS Intune and similar tools.
- Experience with Fortinet or firewall and basic network administration preferred.
- Experience with supporting various system configurations (Stand Alone, Peer to Peer Networks, Local Area Networks, and Wide Area Networks) and security hardening, test, and maintenance of systems.
- Strong knowledge of the installation, maintenance, patching, and troubleshooting of Windows Server and Windows Desktops/Laptops.
- Exposure to best practices in IT Security, including familiarity with NIST / CMMC-aligned processes and frameworks strongly preferred.
- Experience coaching and assisting other support technicians or infrastructure team members preferred.
- Experience with and the ability to create/write clear & accurate technical documentation.
- Professional and customer-oriented, with critical-thinking skills, and the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
- Proven aptitude to independently research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve a variety of technical issues.
- Demonstrated track record of urgency, reliability, and accountability.
- Exceptional follow-up and interpersonal (oral and written communication) skills.
- Proficient in setting up Local and Active Directory based user accounts including Managing Security levels and Principles, as well as Login scripts.
- Utilize knowledge of common network commands, utilities, ports, and protocols.
- Demonstrate flexibility and ability to manage multiple/shifting priorities.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by staying up to date with latest/current/relevant technology related to networking, storage, server and client operating systems, Active Directories, wireless and wired connectivity, and security/intrusion software/hardware.
- Provide education to and knowledge-sharing with colleagues and client end-users.
- Able to make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions with the ability to effectively communicate information to various audiences both verbally and through written communications.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing requests and systemically manage a number of concurrent responsibilities.
- U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance required. Active clearance preferred.
