Position Overview

The Program Coordinator II is responsible for the overall direction, supervision, coordination, and evaluation of the Supervised Apartment Program (SAP). Program Coordinator II also provides supervision to program personnel in each of their programs.

Essential Functions
  • Oversee efficient operations of program including, but not limited to, building/office maintenance, safety drills; vehicle maintenance; timely admission and discharge planning; and overall adherence to program budget.
  • Coaches, mentors, cross-trains in other programs, provides coverage, as directed by the Sr. Director of Community Programs and based on agency need.
  • Effectively plans, designs, and implements new programs and policies/procedures.
  • Adequately prepares and maintains relationships with landlord, southeastern mental health authority (SMHA) network providers, visiting nurses association (VNA) providers, other community providers, and the SCSI multi-disciplinary team.
  • Effectively assesses outcome measurement, key performance indicators, program evaluation, and person served satisfaction, and initiates changes based on results.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in utilizing data to complete biennial program evaluation, respond to Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) outcomes and completion of surveys.
  • Consistently ensures adequate scheduling and coverage of personnel as required.
  • Provides adequate individual and group supervision and implements accountability standards among all reporting staff.
  • Meets with residents individually and through house meetings to communicate program issues, activities schedules, treatment group suggestions, and other needs.
  • Oversees hiring, orientation, program on-boarding, and initial and ongoing training of program employees.
  • Provides regular, monthly supervision to reporting employees; conducts performance evaluations; implements progressive discipline as necessary.
  • Assure attendance at clinical team meetings to provide input around client issues.
  • Attend weekly network meeting regarding referrals and case discussions.
  • Demonstrates understanding of SCSIs integrated service delivery system as well as available network resources in order to facilitate person served linkages and referrals. Connect with referral sources to set meetings for possible placement within program.
  • Assists with development of new programs/contracts/grants to further enhance SCSIs funding opportunities.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in researching, compiling, and receiving awards/funding, and completes all necessary reporting/follow-up.
  • Participates as a member of the Manager on Call (MOC) program and adheres to expectations and guidelines.
  • Represents SCSI as a member of the SCSI Leadership Team.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and climb stairs. The employee frequently is required to walk, talk and/or hear; speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate effectively by phone or in person at normal volumes; vision adequate to read correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc. The employee is occasionally required to stand and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this position include the ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in human services or other related field required; a combination of education and relevant experience may be considered; minimum of three (3) years of behavioral health or human services-related experience required; minimum of two (2) years experience in a supervisory role that includes leading and oversight of employees, including staff development/mentorship, and performance management required; experience in residential programs preferred; knowledge of evidence-based practices within the field of mental health/co-occurring disorders required; must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and other web-based systems; excellent written and oral communication skills required; current, valid drivers license required; must be CPR/First Aid certified or eligible.
