About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Lead Billing Specialist / RCM Team Lead to lead a high-performing team of billing professionals who support our clients' revenue cycle needs from end to end. This role blends people leadership, operational excellence, and data-driven strategy to ensure every client meets their financial performance goals. We are building a people-first RCM organizationone that values growth, transparency, and client partnership. You'll have the chance to shape processes, develop your team, and make a measurable impact every day. Jump in to complete daily billing, claim follow-up, or payment posting tasks as needed. Own certain billing workflows for select clients while the department scales. Thrive in a fast-growing startup environment where adaptability, organization, and teamwork are key. Support the development of the team through coaching, mentorship, and a focus on continuous improvement. Oversee day-to-day billing operations and ensure timely, accurate claim submission and follow-up. Track and report on KPIs like A/R days, clean claim rate, denial rate, and timely filing compliance. Partner with internal teams and clients to identify trends, resolve issues, and improve performance. Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
About You- 5+ years in medical billing or RCM; 2+ years in a leadership or team management role.
- Strong understanding of payer rules, EDI transactions (837/835), and denial management.
- Data-savvy with the ability to interpret and present performance metrics.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Behavioral health or ABA billing experience preferred.
- Lead with an open heart assuming positive intent and being courageous.
