Location: Houston, Texas. Position type: Full?time, mid?senior level within Houston Community Colleges (HCC) Education and Training department.

As a Corporate Trainer you will keep day?to?day operations running smoothly while collaborating closely with inspiring leaders across the institution. Your role may be supportive, administrative, financial, or educational, and you will play a dynamic part in providing students with academic and career tools and caring for our people.

We are seeking an innovative, process?focused trainer who can develop partnerships with communities and individuals. The ideal candidate is a tech?savvy, collaborative, results?oriented student champion who keeps the student experience at the forefront of planning and execution.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelors degree required; eight (8) years of experience may substitute for the degree.
• Certification in construction trades (e.g., Master Welder, Master Electrician) or NCCER preferred.
  

Experience

• A minimum of three (3) years of subject?related industry experience required.
• Community college, university teaching, or corporate training experience preferred.
  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to deliver classes at client facilities.
• Knowledge to dress appropriately and present clearly both orally and in writing.
• Ready to attend certification courses as required for licensing.
• Mechanical competency: repair, maintain and operate relevant machines and tools; climb ladders; lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to teach at multiple city sites day or evening.
• Proficiency with current technology and variety of computer software.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication with diverse professionals, community members, and students.
• Strong organizational and planning skills; ability to meet deadlines for reports and paperwork.
• Sensitivity to students of diverse academic, socio?economic, cultural, ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities.
• Inspiration and motivation for students in a learning?centered environment.
• Self?discipline and capability to manage others effectively.
• Customization of training content to client objectives.
• Application of learning theory, leadership techniques and current developments in the field.
