Full Time

Client is seeking a highly technical and customer-focused Customer Success & Solutions background to drive retention and expansion for our data transformation platform. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our customers by guiding them through pilots, increasing adoption in annual agreements, and developing new use cases. Acting as the voice of the customer, you'll collaborate closely with our engineering team to refine our product and ensure seamless integrations. This role is ideal for someone with a technical background at a developer-focused company who thrives in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities
  • joining pre-sale processes for large enterprises
  • Own customer retention and expansion, driving value realization in pilots and long-term contracts.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to technical stakeholders, including Heads of Engineering and CTOs.
  • Lead QBRs and strategic planning sessions with customers.
  • Collaborate with engineering to translate customer feedback into actionable product improvements.
  • Design and implement additional use cases to increase customer engagement.
  • Troubleshoot technical challenges and provide guidance on best practices for product adoption.
  • Work cross-functionally with GTM and Engineering to optimize customer experience.
MUST HAVE: 4+ years of CS or solutions experience

5+ years of experience in technical customer success, solutions engineering, or related role at a developer-focused startup. Someone who is very technical (has a background in engineering or has worked for deep tech companies- AI or developer).

Work experience:
    • MUST HAVE: 100% needs experience in developer tools (AI, data, or deeply technical company strongly preferred i.e. Retool, OpenAI, Anthropic, Stripe).
    • MUST HAVE: Must have experience in post-sale customer engagement, including expansions, renewals, and upsells. OR a very strong background as an AE for a developer tech/AI company.
    • Experience driving customer retention and expansion strategies. Ability to identify and execute on expansion opportunities within existing accounts (turning $80K pilots into million-dollar deals).
    • Hands-on experience collaborating with engineering teams on product development.
    • Someone should 100% be able to speak to specifics on retention strategy/CS or GTM success metrics they've seen before
    • Experience working with large enterprise customers and understanding their implementation needs.
Hard skills:
    • Strong engineering background with experience in AI, data platforms, or developer tools. Must understand data pipelines and AI solutions.
    • Proficiency in coding (especially JSON) is a strong plus.
Soft skills
    • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
Miscellaneous:
    • Willing to work in SF for at least 3 days a week in person
    • Comfort with being the founding CS hire and building processes from scratch.
