As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will provide comprehensive mental health services, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and guide patients through life-changing clinical pathways. Your role will be pivotal in addressing mental illness, addiction, and behavioral health crises across diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive Patient Care
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
- Develop, implement, and revise individualized treatment plans.
- Deliver outpatient therapy services to adults and/or children.
- Provide crisis intervention and behavioral stabilization when needed.
- Collaborate with care teams, including physicians, case managers, and social workers.
- Build partnerships with community organizations to strengthen patient support systems.
- Refer and connect patients to appropriate public and mental health resources.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, treatment notes, and discharge plans.
- Track patient progress through ongoing assessments and adapt interventions accordingly.
- Prepare case summaries and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education & Licensures
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working with diverse mental health populations.
- Skilled in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing therapy.
- Background in crisis management and behavioral interventions.
- Strong foundation in evidence-based practices and psychosocial care.
- Proficient in crisis response and emergency decision-making.
- Effective communicator with strong counseling and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of community-based mental health resources and patient advocacy.
