Associate, Tax

The Tax Department leads the Company's day-to-day tax operations, including the filing of federal, state, foreign, income, sales and use, VAT, and other tax returns. The Tax Department also oversees all facets of foreign tax reporting. The Tax team is part of the Finance organization located in New York, NY, with regional locations in London, Sao Paulo and Singapore.

- Review clients' financial information (financial statements, trial balances, etc.) and identify and record any necessary book-to-tax adjustments
- Calculate taxable income and prepare partnership tax allocations for hedge funds, private equity funds, fund-of-funds and other alternative investment funds
- Prepare federal and state partnership and corporate income tax returns using GoSystems
- Prepare Schedule K-1's, Schedule K-1 equivalents, tax estimates and other tax reporting for clients' investors
- Prepare international U.S. tax forms (i.e., Form 5471, 8621, 8858, 8865)
- Calculate federal and state withholding tax payments and prepare related withholding tax forms
- Research various tax issues and correspond with clients on them
- Correspond with IRS and state tax authorities
- Help train and support less experienced staff
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
- Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting and/or CPA are pluses
- Good tax knowledge of partnerships and the alternative investment fund industry
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite products, especially Excel and Outlook
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Team player mentality and detail-oriented
