The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and select new suppliers for raw materials and components.
- Negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
- Generate and manage purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts and minimize carrying costs.
- Collaborate with production and engineering to forecast material needs.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
- Resolve discrepancies and issues related to supplier performance, quality, and delivery.
- Proven experience in procurement or buying within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for purchasing and inventory management.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze costs, forecast demand, and manage inventory effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience with international sourcing, logistics, and customs regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or specifications.
- Proficiency with advanced features of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., reporting, system optimization).
