Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Branch Chief (Manager II) of the Human Resources Branch (HRB) in the Administrative Services Division, the Supervisor I will efficiently oversee the operations of the Transactions Unit. The Supervisor I is responsible for the technical personnel and payroll support functions related to human resources transactions, the implementation and transition to Tempo Timekeeping System (Tempo), and the California State Payroll System (CSPS). The Supervisor I has oversight of all personnel transactions and functions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies.

This CDFA work location is near restaurants, coffee shops, and a farmer’s market. We are within walking distance to light rail/public transportation, across the street from beautiful Capitol Park, and two miles from Downtown Commons (DOCO).

Working Conditions
The duties of this position are primarily conducted indoors. Cubicle offices are furnished with modular office equipment including overhead storage, filing drawers, and bins. Staff are assigned a laptop computer with email and various software to conduct the required functions.
This position is located in HRB and is privileged with access to confidential information. The employee acknowledges sensitive and/or confidential information is not to be discussed, copied, or shared with unauthorized personnel outside of HRB.
This position may/may not be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the CDFA and based on the current telework policy. While the CDFA supports telework where possible, in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises, as determined by the Department.
