The position functions as the Linux/Unix Server Engineering Section Manager, in the Technology Services Division's Infrastructure Services Bureau. The ITM1 has full management responsibility and serves in a management role under the general direction of the Assistant Bureau Director (ABD) and functions independently by planning, directing, coordinating and organizing the more difficult, critical, sensitive, technical, and highly specialized assignments and, reviewing implementation and conformance of IT programs with organizational policies and objectives.

The Linux/Unix Server Engineering Section Manager, through subordinate specialists, directs the activities of staff supporting, technical direction who are tasked with the maintenance, and support of the enterprise, to include Enterprise Tax System's (ETS) technical software stack, comprised of both custom software and various Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software products installed on roughly 20 technical environments that support the SDLC. Linux/Unix Server Engineering Section provides supporting mission-critical 24x7x365 applications and services.

This role also contributes to the evaluation and implementation of cloud technologies including managing both on premises and cloud based systems as part of the department's infrastructure, ensuring continuity across physical, virtual, and cloud platforms

Working Conditions Interviews will be conducted in person. This position requires 4 or more days in the office per week. It is designated office-centered and may be eligible for some remote work based on departmental guidelines and operational need. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
