About the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) Specialist to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the organization's compliance with all applicable EH&S regulations, ISO standards and in meeting our goals reduce our impact on the environment. The successful candidate will help oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive EH&S programs, including ISO 14001, ISO 45001, medical and chemical emergency response teams, site emergency response and preparedness, True Zero Waste initiatives and other environmental sustainability programs while consistently working to ensure a compliant and safe work environment for all employees.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EH&S regulations, including OSHA, MCES, MPCA & EPA etc.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EH&S policies, procedures, and training programs to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Provide EH&S representation and support to the site's labs and divisions to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and Global EH&S requirements.
  • Coordinate injury investigations with functional owners to identify root cause, identify owners and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in development and implementation of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and provide support to facilities for ISO 50001 management systems to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and roll out training programs on relevant EH&S policies and procedures.
  • Partner with Global EH&S to support and implement initiatives.
  • Emergency Response - Participation in standing up and training of emergency response teams MERT (Medical Emergency Response Team), CERT (Chemical Emergency Response Team), IMT (Incident Management Team), CMT (Crisis Management Team). Serve an active role (lead or member) in the site's Emergency Response Team (ERT).
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to identify hazards, drive continuous improvement, and implement practical solutions for risk reduction and control measures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated competencies in analytical thinking, effective communication, interpersonal understanding, initiative, teamwork, and a commitment to quality and attention to detail.
  • Management of Hazardous waste Program - LQG
Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, EHS or other related technical field
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with increasing oversight of EHS related activities and projects
  • EH&S experience in medical device manufacturing
Preferred qualifications:
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with increasing oversight of EHS related activities and projects
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or similar credentials are highly preferred.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
