We strive to make Stratas Foods a great place to work and are building a team capable of meeting our business goals.Job DescriptionThe Plant Project Engineer I will provide engineering support and project leadership for the plant The expectation is that this role will spend approximately 60% of the time on project related activities and 40% of the time on plant support activities. At times either activity could exceed expectation. The Plant Project Engineer I role will include project implementation, production and equipment improvement initiatives and support the daily operations of the plant to ensure all safety and quality goals are achieved.QualificationsProject management, project planning, project coordinator, purchasing, and supervision of contractors for various projects to assure completion on a timely basis within budget.Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP requirements.Lead and assist management with appropriate training to assure regulatory compliance.Report to the Director of Engineering with a dotted line to the Plant Manager.Maintain appropriate communication/relationships with all employees, vendors, visitors.Provide the necessary safety training to contractors and others as necessary.Follow, monitor, and ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, environmental, GMP rules, regulations, and policies.Attend daily production/quality meetings.Provide technical support for plant processes and improvements.Observe facility operations and assist with problem solving on a regular basis.Assist management with appropriate training to assure regulatory compliance.CompetenciesExcellent oral and written communication skills with proven ability working well with people.Ability to identify critical areas for improvement and develop plans for correction. Competent in making sketches, drawings, line layouts, plans etc., and written instructions as necessary to affect equipment maintenance / repair.Participative team attitude skills with all personnel to assure production standards, safety, and sanitation levels are maintained as defined by the Mission Statement.Good skills in ammonia refrigeration, steam generation and PLC’s.Good problem solving skills through team and individual efforts.Strong analytical skills.EducationBS degree in engineering or technical related area from an accredited college/university; Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical preferredRelated ExperienceProven Engineering experience of 3 – 5 years, project management is a plusEquipment/Software SkillsWorking knowledge in personal computers (Microsoft software necessary, Project management, Microsoft Project preferred) and basic understanding with Allen Bradley PLC. Knowledge of CMMS such as MP2 is a plus. Must have good working knowledge of general PC systems.Certifications, Licenses, RegistrationsNone required, any maintenance related licenses would be a plus such as PE, ASME welding, PLC’s , wastewater, etc.Additional InformationPhysical: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, and stand. The employee will also be required to use hands, arms and fingers.
