The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) Associate Director facilitates student, faculty and staff involvement in undergraduate research and creative opportunities throughout the University of Iowa, while working under the direct supervision of the OUR Director (who reports to the Office of the Vice President for Research). Position Status : 100%, Full-time Work Schedule: Flexible hours usually between 8 am-5 pm, Mon-Fri. Some evening and weekend hours required for office events. About the Office of Undergraduate Research The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) is a unit of the .We promote undergraduate involvement in research and creative projects at the University of Iowa by facilitating the mentorship of students in research/creative work and providing platforms for students to explore research communication.We work with students, faculty, and staff from the arts, humanities, natural/physical sciences, social sciences, health and medicine, engineering, and business. Qualifications: Education or Equivalency Required Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Qualifications ·Reasonable (typically 1-3 years) administrative, supervisory, and program experience is required. ·Demonstrate excellent communication skills for writing and oral presentations aimed at broad audiences. ·Experience working with college students. ·Must be proficient in computer software applications, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. ·Demonstrated ability to work independently while also being a strong collaborator. ·Excellent interpersonal skills, including the confidence, sensibility, and discretion to work diplomatically and effectively with a wide variety of faculty, staff, and students. Highly Desirable Qualifications ·Master's degree. Desirable Qualifications ·Terminal degree. ·Participated in undergraduate research/creative scholarship. ·Experience mentoring in higher education. ·Training and ability to direct educational activities for students connected to center programs.
