Job Description The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting the Manager of Financial Reporting and Accounting in performing general accounting duties. The position also coordinates the processing of accounting for various processes including workers’ compensation, general liability, and property insurance – monthly close & reporting duties – store accounting & reviews – marketing accounting – year end audit support - daily account balancing & miscellaneous accruals\prepaids. Various other duties and special projects may be assigned when needed. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: • Analytical review and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts as assigned • Responsible for review of internal profit and loss statements as assigned • Coordinates compliance and control requirements for various processes • Ensures prompt processing of journal entries on a weekly\monthly basis • Works closely with Third Party Administrator (TPA), Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC), Insurance Company Claims Adjusters and Legal Counsel to provide missing information and maintain good communication • Other duties may be assigned Education and Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree required in Accounting or Finance • 1-3 years of Accounting related experience • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word documents is required • Must be detail oriented • Knowledge of enterprise reporting systems and Essbase reports is desired • Good organizational, interpersonal and telephone skill are necessary • Must be focused on internal customer service and be a strong team player who demonstrates an enthusiastic, energetic, can-do approach to problem solving. Language Skills: • English required Physical demands: • Required to stand, walk, and sit • Ability to move freely throughout the office facility • Regularly required to talk and listen • Bending and stooping involved in the process of filing • Lifting and carrying involved in the transfer of files – may be required to lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds • Required to operate various office machines including frequent use of a keyboard Work environment: • Office setting. • Hybrid role available (3 days in office)
