HVAC Mechanic

Cedarbrook Senior Care & Rehab is seeking a Full-time HVAC Mechanic for it's Fountain Hill Location.*Full-time 7a-3p*This is a skilled maintenance & repair work at the journeyman level working on heating, ventilation and refrigeration systems. A position in this class troubleshoots malfunctions of equipment, and repairs, replaces, alters, or installs such fixtures and systems for County Nursing home.TYPICAL EXAMPLES OF WORK:Receives work and job orders for repair, installation or other maintenance work with heating, ventilation and refrigeration fixtures and/or other systems.makes repair or alteration, installing pumps, condensers, filters, controls, valves, gauges and other system component parts.hooks up associated electrical and/or electronic control, test or related equipment into systems.inspects finished job for conformance to requirements, codes and accepted trade standards.Determines materials needed for jobs, checking against supplies.orders and receives supplies and equipment for each job.coordinates schedule for job performance, including the shutoff of water, power and other elements, with other building personnel and those in affected area.keeps records of jobs performed, materials used and related information.reads and records control and measurement systems, reporting readings to building or facility management personnel.works with contractors, inspectors and vendors to plan for and coordinate efforts in larger installation, alteration or repair jobs.may instruct and oversee the work of other personnel providing assistance with jobs.may assist other trades personnel and/or perform such maintenance work.Performs other related work as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Thorough knowledge of plumbing, electrical and related principles, practices, methods and techniques commonly employed in the repair, alteration and installation of heating, ventilation and refrigeration fixtures and systems.Thorough knowledge of the tools, substances and safety precautions of the heating, ventilation and refrigeration field.Knowledge of principles and practices addressed by, and general provisions of, trades, environmental, safety and other code requirements.Skill in the use and maintenance of trades tools and materials.Ability to learn the specific codes and regulatory provisions governing building and mechanical trades work in the County.Ability to read and interpret building and mechanical plans and sketches.Ability to determine time, materials and equipment required to complete assigned jobs.Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.Ability to keep records of activities.Ability to lift, carry and maneuver into position: fans, pumps, circulators, compressors and other such heavy and/or unwieldy fixtures.Ability to work in close proximity to nursing facility patients, families and visitors, if required by work assignment.ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth school grade.Three to four years maintenance and repair work in the heating, ventilation and refrigeration field, one year which shall have been at the journeyman level.Or any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience which has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities cited above.(full job description upon interview)We offer a GREAT benefit package for all Full-time & Regular Part-time Employees:Low-Cost Health/Dental/Vision InsuranceCounty Defined Pension Plan (5% mandatory contribution)Medical Flexible Spending AccountVacation/Personal/Reward & Sick Days12 Paid holiday (Full-time) & 6 paid holidays (Regular Part-Time)Tuition Reimbursement ProgramGroup Life Insurance
