Journeyman Field Service Technician

Apply now and start your adventure with us Responsibilities & Expectations:  The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience working with motors, switchgear, transformers, controls, variable frequency drives, protective relays, and other electrical equipment. As a field service technician travel to customers in the Western US will be essential.Electrical installation, including but not limited to conduit, cable, low and medium voltage switchgear and electrical apparatusPerforms preventative maintenance and repairs on all types of electrical and electronic systems, both indoors and outdoorsWorking knowledge in low voltage and medium voltage ranging from 120v up to 46kvProficiency in the use of electrical test meters: DVM’s, megger, ammeters, hipot, ductor, Doble, etc.Able to read and understand electrical schematics and drawingsThorough knowledge of electrical theory, experience in AC and DC power circuitsGeneral knowledge of low & medium voltage circuit breakersTravel to perform regular PM’s and or emergency projectsPerform basic control wiring installation using schematics and wiring diagrams with little assistanceProvide and maintain personal tools Qualifications and Competencies:  At least 5 years electrical experience desiredJourneyman background or equivalent experience is importantExperience related to utility companies and heavy industry a plusElectrical education or certifications are a plusMust have a strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy Must have strong written and verbal communication skills  Must have good customer relations skills and able to remain calm during stressful situationsAbility to work under pressure in a challenging fast-paced environment.Ability to take direction and act independently.  Must also be able to work well with a teamAbility to manage multiple priorities and stay organizedMust be a self-starter and able to make quick decisionsMust be willing to follow standard safety practices in performing job tasks to promote safe and efficient workmanshipMust show a history of being reliable and dependable.
