The Research Scientist will work on the project titled “New discoveries of Early Cretaceous floras from northwestern Gondwana reveal a cradle of plant diversity.” Duties and Responsibilities: Study of Early Cretaceous plants from Colombia and Ecuador Processing of sediment samples for mesofossils CT scanning/processing of Paja Fossils Scientific Publication of results Attend BSA or GSA conferences Creation and dissemination of outreach events Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biology or Geology Paleobotanical expertise Knowledge of Early Cretaceous plants Fieldwork experience Writing, mentoring, and communication skills Supervision Received: Receives general supervision by Negaunee Associate Curator of Paleobotany Supervision Exercised: The position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Work Hours and Shift: 35 hours Hybrid Eligibility: Not eligible Location: 1400 S.
