Mopar Accessories Interior Product Design Engineer

Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Interior Product Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and release of soft trim and hard trim features and accessories for automotive vehicles. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver high-quality, functional, and manufacturable products on time. The ideal candidate has diverse skills in interior product design, knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, and experience supporting product launches from concept through production.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with planning and strategy teams to develop new interior feature ideasConduct initial design and feasibility studies with interior product, vehicle integration, and product design teamsCreate Source Package documents for new productsSupport purchasing teams in reviewing technical submissions and selecting suppliersAssist with supplier component development as neededLead vehicle and component testing based on Design Verification Plans (DVP)Host weekly engineering development meetings with suppliers and internal teamsTrack and manage project timelines to ensure on-time product launchManage and track engineering changes for vehicle interior systems and componentsApply knowledge of plastic injection-molded parts, manufacturing processes, and material selection (preferred)Apply knowledge of soft trim cut-and-sew materials and processes (preferred)QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related fieldExperience in automotive interior product design and developmentStrong understanding of vehicle design, materials, and manufacturing processesExcellent communication, coordination, and project management skillsPreferred ExperienceKnowledge of automotive accessories such as all-weather mats, seat covers, cargo storage solutions, and special model badgingHands-on experience with plastic and soft trim interior componentsExperience supporting product launches from prototype through productionAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
