Description and Requirements The Paralegal will provide assistance & general support to the Legal department in its interaction with the business. Hybrid Work Schedule:This position consists of reporting to our 100 Church Street (NYC) office 3 days per week.Duties/Responsibilities:Providing support to in-house legal counsel or the organization's attorney to address legal issuesReviewing and logging Fair Hearing notices; compiles and coordinates assembly of documentation supporting actions taken by the PlanAssisting in handling, preparing, coordinating, and attending scheduled Fair Hearings on behalf of the PlanWorking with internal departments to coordinate and improve workflows related to the fair hearings and plan denialsPreparing legal documents such as settlement agreements, contracts, evidence packetsReporting directly to in-house legal counsel or attorneyReviewing legal notices and directing to appropriate attorney or business unit for review and/or actionReviewing documentation and formulates argument supporting Plan actionAdditional duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications: Associate's degree from an accredited institution or high school diploma/GED plus relevant experienceExcellent oral and written communication skillsFamiliarity with Microsoft Office, Excel and SharePointRelated experience as a paralegal in a law firm and/or corporate legal department or managed care organizationStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deliverablesPreferred Qualifications: Understanding of the Medicaid/Medicare programs and the Fair Hearing processBachelor's degree from an accredited institution Hiring Range*:Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $67,205 - $95,680All Other Locations (within approved locations): $59,800 - $87,360 As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision. In addition to your salary, Healthfirst offers employees a full range of benefits such as, medical, dental and vision coverage, incentive and recognition programs, life insurance, and 401k contributions (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
