Patrol officers work four, 10 hour shifts with a set 3-days off based on seniority. Overlapping shifts allow for a 2-hour period at the end of a shift to complete reports, training, or utilize workout areas for physical fitness and health while on duty.The Pittsburg Police Department is a 51-officer department serving a community of 21,000. Pittsburg is home to Pittsburg State University, a thriving downtown and growing retail district.
