Emergency Medical Technician (Licensed EMT, NC)Emergency Medical Technician or E.M.THIRING IMMEDIATELYSunstates Security is currently hiring a Full Time EMT in the Charlotte, NC area. The hours will be 0600 - 1600, Mon to Thurs, with a starting pay of $23.88/hr- with weekly pay Position Overview:The primary purpose of this position is to respond and treat all injuries and illnesses that occur on the Charlotte campus.  The response should be coordinated with the Emergency Response Team and at the direction of the Registered Nurse. Responsibilities, Under the Direction of the Registered Nurse:Assist the nurse as necessaryMake a minimum of two walk-throughs the plant on each shiftFollow up with injured employeesDocument all employee contact in OHM (web based medical documentation system)Update monthly injury reportsPerform annual audio, vision, and pulmonary function testsRespirator Fit testingPerform post-offer exams to include above and urine drug screenInventory all medical supplies and restock as neededOrder all suppliesPrepare files for weekly MD visit and document results of visitMonitor the AED’s, O2, Jump bags and ERT trauma bag and maintain the logs for eachReview shift events with oncoming EMTAssist with cleaning of the medical departmentAttend monthly safety and ERT meetingsCalibrate audio and PFT machines and maintain the logsPerform the weekly eyewash inspectionsSchedule HAZMAT pickup as neededPerforms other duties as assignedRequired Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Certification:Certified as an Emergency Medical Technician with the State of N.C.One year of experience as an EMTMaintain current certification for EMTMaintain BLS certificationMaintain Blood Borne Pathogen trainingAttend required training class for Pulmonary Function TestingCurrent or prior security experience is highly preferredAbility to pass a background check and drug screenExcellent customer serviceGood observation skillsAttention to detail Flexible and able to work weekendsProfessional appearance  A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).   The Security Officer will read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP, and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.
