Job Description Position Description Job Summary: The Heavy Equipment Operator will operate heavy machinery for construction, demolition, concrete breaking and removal projects.  Supervisory Responsibilities: None Duties/Responsibilities: Operates construction, excavation and demolition equipment including excavators, front end loaders and skid steers. Ability to load dump trucks with broken concrete utilizing an excavator or front end loader. Ability to break concrete with an excavator with hydraulic breaker. Operates machinery used to build and/or demolish bridges, buildings and highways. Inspects and fuels equipment prior to beginning shift. Communicate clearly with dispatch and supervisors Performs routine maintenance and repairs. Performs other related duties as assigned. Position Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities. Excellent mechanical skills. Ability to follow instructions. Proficient in English Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent 1+ years of experience working with heavy equipment Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery. Able to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary. Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
