The Opportunity We are working with companies in Paw Paw that are adding Bookkeepers to their teams. These organizations value quality over speed in hiring. Key Responsibilities Record daily financial transactions, including revenue, expenses, and journal entries. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments. Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations to verify financial data accuracy. Process payroll for all employees, including calculating wages, deductions, and tax submissions. Maintain the general ledger, ensuring proper coding and classification of all financial entries. Track and reconcile inventory costs, raw material purchases, and work-in-progress specific to manufacturing. Prepare basic financial reports, such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures and provide documentation for audits. Recommended Qualifications Experience with inventory accounting, cost of goods sold (COGS), and work-in-progress (WIP). Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and familiarity with ERP systems common in manufacturing. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and fundamental bookkeeping practices. Proven ability in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and performing bank reconciliations. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and reporting. Bonus Qualifications Experience with manufacturing ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite). Familiarity with inventory costing methods (e.g., FIFO, LIFO, weighted average). Basic understanding of job costing or standard costing principles. Exposure to fixed asset management for manufacturing equipment.
