As a Principal Applied Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Gen AI at Egnyte by defining technical strategy, driving the development of predictive models and insights, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to turn complex data into actionable business solutions at scale. You will mentor and guide data science teams while providing expertise in state-of-the-art AI/ML practices, ensuring a robust production pipeline and the professional management of models.WHAT YOU’LL DO: Develop and own the data science roadmap that aligns with Egnyte’s business goalsDefine success metrics and oversee the entire lifecycle of data initiatives from concept to production deployment.Architect, develop, and deploy state-of-the-art machine learning modelsChampion best practices in model development, validation, and monitoring in production environmentsPartner with product, engineering, and business teams to translate business requirements into data-driven solutionsProvide technical leadership and mentor the data science teamArchitect and provide production monitoring and support for Egnyte’s ML servicesStay ahead of industry trends by continuously evaluating emerging technologies and methodologies in data science and machine learningRepresent Egnyte’s technical excellence through publications, presentations, and participation in industry eventsYOUR QUALIFICATIONS:10+ years of professional experience in data science with a proven track record in building and supporting production grade ML systemsMust be highly proficient in Python modern features with hands-on experience in machine learning frameworks (., TensorFlow, PyTorch)Used popular Python web frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, and DjangoExperience with natural language processing (NLP) and/or computer vision techniquesExperience working with RAG pipelines and LLMs in productionExperience working with large-scale datasets and distributed computing platforms like GCPStrong understanding of ML lifecycle and MLOps practicesExperience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana and logging systems .
