Structural & Tunneling Engineer

STV currently has an opening in our New York City or New Jersey office for a Structural & Tunneling Engineer in our Centers of Excellence division. In this position as a Structural/Tunneling Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and designers on multiple projects for the Transportation and Infrastructure department. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment.Responsibilities:Lead the design and analysis of underground structures, such as tunnels, caverns, and shaftsDevelop design budget and schedule.Collaborate with other engineers, architects, and construction professionals to ensure that designs meet project specifications and requirementsDevelop and review construction plans, drawings, and specifications for underground structures, and supervise the work of junior engineers and techniciansConduct structural calculations and analyses to determine load capacities, stability, and safety factors, and review and approve calculations prepared by junior engineersUse computer-aided design (CAD) software and other tools to create and modify design drawings and models, and supervise the work of junior engineers and techniciansPerform QA/QC checking of projects completed by other engineers.Prepare project reports and documentation, and communicate with clients and other stakeholders regarding project progress and issuesMonitor construction activities to ensure that they are in compliance with the design plans and specifications, and resolve any construction-related issues that arise during the projectQualifications:Minimum B.S. Degree in Civil engineering. Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering is preferred.PE license required.Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, especially related to underground structuresMinimum of 5-7 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on underground structuresAdvanced understanding or willingness to learn and utilize engineering software, such as SAP2000, , GT STRUDEL, LARSA, CSiBridge, RISA, MIDAS and MATHCAD.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to lead a teamGood communication and collaboration skills, and ability to work with clients and other stakeholdersFamiliarity with relevant codes and standards, such as FHWA, AREMA, ACI 318, AISC, and ASCE 7Experience with project management, including managing budgets, schedules, and resources, is a plus.Compensation Range:$82,265.06 - $109,686.74Don’t meet every single requirement?
