DEC Student Manager Team Leader

Summary of Position: Under the supervision of the Associate Dean of Student Life, the Student Manager Team Leader is responsible for ensuring events are ready for guests, directing student managers, ensuring evening and weekend operations are staffed and staff communication. This position requires sound judgment and decision making in the absence of full-time staff. Responsibilities for carrying out the David L. Eisler Center policies and regulations include assisting with hiring, training, coaching, and scheduling student managers. Student Manager Team Leader will be knowledgeable of building operations, events, and staff responsibilities. They will be fluent in problem solving and de-escalation of complications that may arise. This position will be expected to assist with events in the evenings, weekends, and outside of normal operation hours. Position Requirements: 2 semesters of experience as a David L. Eisler Center student managerHave/Maintain a GPA of 2.7Have/Maintain a valid driver’s licenseLift 50 poundsAvailability during school/holiday breaksProficient with Microsoft Office programsWork a minimum of 20 hours within the David L. Eisler Center per week (10 hours in Administrative Office and remainder in student manager shifts) Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Assist in Hiring/Scheduling/Training/Coaching of Student Managers .In depth knowledge of David L. Eisler Center Equipment including audio and visual equipmentConduct Monthly/Bi-Weekly Meetings with StaffBe available by phone when needed and have respectable communication skillsMaintain confidentiality with various aspects of the positionAlways represent the David L. Eisler Center with a positive and respectful attitudeUtilize Event Draw design software to prepare for event review and event set-upCreate and distribute regular communication to staff on updates and eventsWork closely with Set Up Coordinator to ensure all event spaces are prepared and cleaned regularlyWork special events if other staff are unable toFollow and supports the goals/policies/procedures of the David L.
