The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in data platforms and a proven track record of delivering complex, scalable solutions.DescriptionAs a Senior Product Manager for the Data Lakehouse platform, you will be responsible for defining and executing the product vision for GEICO's data lakehouse products. You will work across two key areas: 1) front-end analytics platform supporting services like Jupyter Notebooks and Apache Superset and 2) the compute client and integration layer. This role requires deep technical understanding of data platforms and lakehouse architectures, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to bridge technical solutions with business value.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a comprehensive platform vision aligned with business goals and customer needsCreate and maintain a clear, prioritized roadmap that balances short-term delivery with long-term strategic objectivesEvangelize the Lakehouse platform across the organization and drive stakeholder alignmentStay abreast of industry trends and competitive landscape (Databricks, Snowflake, etc.) to inform platform strategyLead requirement gathering and product strategy for front-end data tools like Jupyter Notebook and Apache Superset integrationUnderstand end-to-end AIML operations workflows and how notebooks fit into the broader data ecosystemDrive data governance initiatives and cross-team collaboration with other data teamsEnsure platform adheres to regulatory, compliance, and data quality standardsOwn and partner with engineering on the development of client layers that increase adoption of the Lakehouse compute platformDefine product capabilities for client libraries, templates, and integration frameworks to improve platform accessibilityConduct customer roadshows and training on compute platform capabilitiesBuild instrumentation and observability into the client layer to enable data-driven production decisionsWork closely with engineering, design, and data teams to ensure seamless product deliveryPartner with customer success, support, and engineering teams to create clear feedback loopsTranslate technical capabilities into business value and user benefitsDrive alignment across multiple stakeholders and teams in complex, ambiguous environmentsQualificationsRequired Strong understanding of data Lakehouse architectures, query engines, and compute frameworks (Spark, Trino, Databricks, Snowflake)Experience building APIs, SDKs, or client integration layers for large-scale platformsFamiliarity with instrumentation, telemetry, and observability practicesExperience in cloud data ecosystems (Snowflake, AWS, GCP, Azure)Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-makingExperience working with Agile methodologies and tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps)Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skillsExceptional organizational skills with proven ability to manage complex backlogsPreferred Previous experience as a software or data engineer is a plusStrong business acumen to prioritize features based on customer value and business impactExperience with Jupyter Notebooks and Apache SupersetKnowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance requirementsInsurance industry experienceExperienceMinimum 7+ years of technical product management experience with data platforms, developer tools, distributed systems, or data infrastructureTrack record of delivering successful products in fast-paced environmentsExperience managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiativesProven ability to work with technical teams and translate business requirements into technical product specificationsExperience with customer research, user interviews, and data-driven decision makingEducationBachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, management information systems, or related technical field requiredMBA/MS or equivalent experience preferredAnnual Salary$131,200.00 - $229,600.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.
