Position Summary / Career Interest:Physician – Ophthalmologist, Glaucoma SpecialistThe Department of Ophthalmology at The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a dedicatedGlaucomaSpecialist to join our team This faculty position offers a blend of clinical care, teaching, and research opportunities, tailored to the candidate's experience and interests.Key responsibilities include providing comprehensive clinical care andparticipatingin on-call duties as part of a shared faculty rotation.Provide clinical and surgical services to the VA and/or other sites underProfessionalServices Agreement. The role also involves supervising and mentoring medical students and residents in both clinical and surgical settings, contributing to the department's didactic teaching program, and engaging in clinical research. Faculty members are encouraged to share their research findings at national and regional conferences, and those with a strong research focus may be granted protected time to pursue clinical or bench research.Required Qualifications:Medical Degree (MD or equivalent)Board certificationor eligibilityin OphthalmologyCompletion of a SurgicalGlaucomaFellowshipEligibility for medical licensure in KansasPreferred Qualifications:Academic experience with a strong interest in teaching and researchProven ability to develop and grow independent research programs, including securing funding from public and private sourcesWe welcome candidates passionate about advancing ophthalmology through innovative care, education, and research.
