Our mission is to build safe drones that can operate where no other robot can for collecting critical data that can save lives and decrease costs.If you get excited about solving big problems and building robots straight from science fiction, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment, this role might be for youAbout the roleAs a Production Specialist, you will be overseeing and managing our production processes, including assembly, quality assurance, and fulfillment of orders.. You will work closely with the engineering teams, leveraging various production techniques to ensure seamless operations. Your role will also encompass managing the production schedule, order fulfilment, inventory and supplier relationships. This position reports directly to the CTO and requires full-time presence at our Boston, MA office, five days a week.What you'll doAssembly and Repair: Build and test production systems and sub-assemblies with a focus on repeatable, high-quality assembly processes. Troubleshoot and repair production units to ensure they meet performance and quality standardsProduction Planning and Scheduling: Develop and manage production schedules to meet project deadlines and customer demands.Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the engineering team to ensure seamless production processes. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to keep them informed of production status and any issues. Interface with vendors and external manufacturers to ensure delivery timelines and part quality.Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure product meets specified high quality standards. Conduct thorough inspections and tests to identify and resolve any quality issues.Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Address and resolve production issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain productivity. Analyze production data to identify trends and implement corrective actions. Use tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or multimeters to troubleshoot PCBs and embedded systems.Production Floor Management: Ensure the production floor space is well-maintained and organized, including the upkeep of 3D printers and various tools and machines.Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure the availability of necessary materials and components. Coordinate with suppliers to order parts and materials as needed. Manage incoming and outgoing shipments, including receiving parts, inspecting deliveries, and preparing outgoing hardware for customers or contractors.Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Use lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies to optimize production processes. Provide real-time feedback to mechanical/electrical design teams to ensure assemblies are production-friendly and serviceable.Customer Support: Provide exceptional technical support to customers by diagnosing, repairing, and resolving hardware issues. Collaborate with the team to address and resolve customer concerns related to production.Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, processes, and assembly documentation, including schedules, inventory levels, and quality control measures. Prepare and present production reports to senior management.Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all production activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
