The substitute teacher is responsible for maintaining a positive, respectful, and faith-centered classroom environment that reflects the teachings of the Catholic Church and promotes academic excellence. Job ResponsibilitiesProvide instruction using lesson plans and materials provided by the classroom teacher.Maintain classroom routines, rules, and procedures in accordance with school policies.Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, playground, cafeteria, or other assigned areas.Foster a safe, nurturing, and disciplined classroom that supports learning and respects Catholic values.Encourage respectful and responsible student behavior through positive reinforcement and classroom management strategies.Leave clear, written communication for the returning teacher about the day’s progress, issues, or noteworthy events.Support the Catholic identity of the school by participating in prayer, religious activities, and school liturgies when applicable.Follow all school and diocesan policies regarding safety, conduct, and professionalism.Job RequirementsAbility to follow lesson plans and manage a classroom effectivelyProfessionalism, flexibility, and dependabilityWillingness to support the mission and teachings of the Catholic ChurchSuccessful completion of diocesan Safe Environment training and background checkThe Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
