Job Profile Summary ​This role focuses on the design, development, and implementation of information technology (IT) solutions in order to meet the organization's needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture, network systems and applications infrastructure and the management of the IT infrastructure.  In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Client Applications Support duties: Designs, develops, implements, and updates internal IT applications in accordance with specifications and business needs., designs, codes, tests, and debugs computer programs, and prepares systems documentation and training.  A professional individual contributor role that may direct the work of other lower level professionals or manage processes and programs.  The majority of time is spent overseeing the design, implementation or delivery of processes, programs and policies using specialized knowledge and skills typically acquired through advanced education.   A specialist level role that is a recognized subject matter expert in job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.  Typically manages large projects or processes with limited oversight from manager, coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level professionals, resolving difficult and often complex problems.  Job Overview This position supports the design, build, testing, implementation, education, and daily maintenance/use of client applications as well as, other third-party vendor solutions that are more complex, more technical, and/or more critical to Tufts Medicine operations.  This position requires regular engagement with teams, departments, and key stakeholders to gain context and an understanding of pertinent business processes and workflows.  Serving in a lead capacity, possesses strong organization and project management skills, the ability to influence the performance of a collective team of resources that may not report directly to them, prioritize and delegate tasks, and facilitate initiatives from inception through completion by established deliverable dates.   Job Description Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field. 2. Appropriate certifications or obtain certifications within a reasonable timeline. 3. Six (6) years of healthcare business analyst/IT experience.  Preferred Qualifications: 1. Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field. 2. Eight (8) years of healthcare business analyst/IT experience. 3. Experience with software development and software testing/QA.  Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list.  Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.  1. Serves as an experienced business specialist and technology generalist responsible for aligning technology solutions with business needs per the strategic direction set forth by leadership and key stakeholders. 2. Develops detailed understanding of application functionality by attending training and/or reading documentation. 3. Serves as an intermediary between internal groups and third-party solutions or vendors to ensure the integrity and optimization of the technical build or solution is optimal. 4. Leads more complex builds and issue research/resolution tasks. 5. Secures sufficient and thorough system testing consistent with protocols established by the organizations governance committees prior to approving the migration of updates into the production environment. 6. Develops and maintains standard technical and operational documentation for all implemented efforts to support sustainability and end-user education/ experience/ results. 7. Manages medium to large sized projects with minimal managerial oversight. 8. Actively seeks on-going education and understanding of current/ available system functionality, benefits, and implementation requirements to ensure competence as a subject matter expert (“SME”) in areas of assigned focus. 9. Engages continuously with operational teams to gain context and an understanding of pertinent business processes and workflows. 10. Promotes and champions a technology enabled, data-driven operations across the health system; aims to establish formal measures of performance for all initiatives, implemented workflow, and as determine fitting to quantify other efforts/ output. 11. As assigned, conducts research and analyses sufficient to vet the application of technologies with potential to enhance business processes/ performance. Presents findings aligned with measurable optimization to leaders/ applicable decision makers for consideration. 12. Serves as team lead assigned to specific initiatives and daily scope of responsibilities. 13. Provides technical and professional guidance to less experienced team members to develop strong team dynamics and ensure the quality of the work output. 14. Demonstrates openness and willingness to learn new technical applications and information quickly and utilize application tools and information to meet end-user/ operational requirements.  Physical Requirements:  1. Mental requirements will be intense at times with involvement in many concurrent multi-faceted projects. 2. Requires manual dexterity using fine hand manipulation to operate a computer keyboard or related equipment. 3. Requires ability to see computer screen, monitoring equipment and reports.    Skills & Abilities: 1. Ability to use Microsoft Office Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio.  2. Ability to gain additional competence using Microsoft Access, Project Management software. 3. Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, project management skills. 4. Knowledge of organization and project management methodologies. 5. Ability to influence others to prioritize and complete tasks, through completion by established deliverable dates. 6. Ability and willingness to learn new technical applications and information quickly and utilize application tools and information to meet end-user/ operational requirement. 7. High degree of professionalism and integrity is required. 8. Effective team player. 9. Strong written and verbal communication with excellent customer service orientation. 10. Ability to understand and explain complex, technical information to a non-technical user. 11. Ability to be agile and navigate through uncertainty; support team members ability to do the same. 12. Ability to interpret data and identify meaningful patterns. 13. Ability to be resourceful in gathering pertinent information to inform decision-making. 14. Ability to manage and balance multiple priorities simultaneously. Organize work effectively; seek timely guidance as requires in order to complete all assigned work by established deliverable date.
