Martins Creek PA Production Supervisor- PLW As a production supervisor you will be responsible for leading team members to manage all daily operations within the mill. Supervises operations to attain production and quality goals. Identify problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolves issues. Ensure that production resources including materials, equipment and human resources are available as needed to maintain production schedules. And, support continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost and customer service. Your responsibilities: Oversees/executes day-to-day operations for a major area or sub-group area including multiple people intensive departments and/or highly technical processes, ensuring direct reports are following policies and procedures related to employee safety and food/feed safety. Partners/collaborates with Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory (FSQR) experts to implement the most effective approach for complying with corporate safety policies and procedures. Health & Safety: Enforces a culture of zero injury and illness. Environmental: Understands and proactively avoid environmental impact and potential risk to the businesses. Food Safety: Directly monitors risks associated with products. Ensures HACCP/FDA requirements are met in all food and feed processes. Educates/trains workforce in the food safety fundamentals and completes safety inspections and housekeeping audits. Documents and investigates EHS/Food Safety incident data compiled by direct supervisors to identify risks and recommend mitigation actions (i.e. safety index, RIFR, food safety index, CFSRA and FDA audits). Directly oversees and monitors production outcomes, quantity, and quality to ensure customer and food safety requirements are within specifications. Works with Operations team to meet customer specifications and timeline. Directly oversees sterile zone maintenance & sterile zone consumables inventory. Oversees, documents and investigates quality data issues that occur, compiles information and provides recommendations for improvements for review by Plant Manager/Corporate QA Specialists. Within defined area(s) of scope, identifies risks and recommends areas of improvement and innovation. Measures quality performance in areas that impact the customers. Supports BU/Plant customer relationship by meeting businesses objectives and by understanding how operational performance impacts internal/external customers. Accountable for implementation of non-base capital investments for a major area or sub-group area (multiple departments/processes or shifts). Works with appropriate COEs (i.e. engineering, plant management) to provide input in the development of plant capital investment strategies. Responsible for preparing and managing the production budget (daily/monthly) for multiple departments/processes, or shift. Ensures accurate execution of purchase orders and timely payment of invoices. Uses proper procurement practices. Works with direct supervisor to forecast volume of orders on a monthly/yearly basis. Accountable for maintaining/ordering proper packaging consumables inventory Develops operational plans and monitors day-to-day operations for all production processes for multiple departments, processes, or shifts. Directly oversees and supervises daily operations of assigned major area or sub-group area to achieve production throughput requirements including work flow, job assignments, scheduling, shift coverage, etc. Oversees the production and shipment of quality products to fulfill customer requirements. Controls and effectively utilizes the production capacity, manpower and equipment and outside resources through planning, organizing and scheduling to minimize losses; works within the framework of the budget to optimize company profitability. Identifies, aligns, and provides input to best in class operational practices. Utilizes deep technical skills (i.e. production, engineering) and relevant experience to identify/solve problems and recommends/implements operating efficiencies. Consolidates performance measurements and deploys leading common practices to promote operational efficiencies (i.e. yield optimization, energy/water usage reductions, etc). Aligns and implements common reliability processes and ensures the reliability culture is foundational to operations (i.e. deploys common reliability processes and metrics; focus on eliminating the root-cause of reliability problems, etc). Partners with local plant Reliability and Engineering management to develop approaches for meeting/tracking efficiency standards (scorecard and metrics control, total cost of maintenance, monthly review of compliance audits, etc). Champions a culture that promotes operational excellence. Recommends process improvements and supports business case for new investments/innovations. Ensure total employee involvement and linkages of individual and team activities to losses and the business need. Directly Partners/Supports COEs to identify opportunities for continuous improvements applicable to the entire business. Performs and supervises activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment. Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation to ensure continuous production operations. Participates in development of preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering department. Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards. Develops/supervises and provides coaching to operation team including coaching Ardent Mills core values and guiding principles. Develops planning for future production workforce needs and participates in selection of employees. Responsible for developing strong leaders and a more diverse workforce by seeking multiple approaches to source/attract diverse talent. Implements department operational/reliability/safety training programs and controls/monitors employee performance records on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Accountable for production talent development and responsible for overall training and on boarding new/transferred employees as well as workforce engagement, recognition, development and coaching. Implements systems and processes to maintain a highly engaged workforce. Holds direct reports accountable for actively addressing engagement issues and for identifying/leveraging best practices in engagement. Motivate and enhance skills of direct reports and associates. Maintain compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, quality specifications, safety standards and sanitation practices. Applies disciplinary actions when needed. Essential skills and experience: Bachelors degree or 4+ years equivalent job experience. 2+ years experience in plant operations 1+ years supervisory experience required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership behaviors. Demonstrated safety and food safety champion behaviors Strong interpersonal skills (communication, coaching, setting expectations, providing feedback). Demonstrated problem solving/decision making skills. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and lead others to work as a team. Packaging/bulk load out experience in a food environment Good to have: Training in LEAN, Six Sigma, or other manufacturing and warehousing optimization processes Knowledge of continuous improvement processes. TPM knowledge highly preferred. Reliability centered maintenance training around packaging equipment best practices. Demonstrated scheduling and process optimization for packaging/warehouse/bulk load out operation. Physical requirements and working conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation): The employee is subject to extreme heat and cold. Our salary ranges are broad, and individual salary will be market competitive based on a candidates unique set of skills and level of experience. The starting range for this position is $74,600.00 - $99,444.40, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience. Additionally, we believe that our team members are the reason for our success and all team members are incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and individual results achieved.
