Cosco Fire Protection, an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of MX Holdings US, is the West Coast's largest fire protection and life safety specialist. Established in 1959, we are a full service company that designs, installs, repairs, services and inspects a wide variety of fire suppression and life safety systems. Our continued success and growth has produced a need for an experienced Fire Alarm Designer / Drafter in our Seattle, WA office.  This position requires fast pace workers who are detail oriented, self starters that can handle multiple projects with little or no supervision. Responsibilities: Attend project turn over meetings with design supervisor, sales and field superintendent. Use AutoCAD and related tools to create fire alarm design drawings and submittal packages within the limits of system specifications, costs and planning. Prepare submittal documents and applications for permit. Maintain project drawing files, associated records and documentation in an orderly condition. Develop and maintain updated library of symbols & drawings (templates) for use on future projects. Develop spreadsheets and other tools to increase quality of drawings while decreasing time required on standard tasks. Operation of large plotter, scanner and reproduction equipment. Be able to work independently, with minimal supervision. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Associates Degree in CAD – Computer Aided Design or equivalent experience in design / drafting Fire Alarm Systems. Formal CAD System or AutoCAD software training or experience. Basic working knowledge and understanding of fire alarm related electronics, codes and practices. Proficient with all basic computer skills and computer software applications including but not limited to MS Office & AutoCAD 2004 or higher. Proficient in reading and understanding Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical layouts and diagrams. Thorough working knowledge and understanding of NFPA codes & standards. Strong ability to follow directions given by supervisor to develop / design drawings. Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills. Good driving record with valid driver’s license. Fire Certifications a plus. NICET Certification a plus.
