Job Title: Clinical Informatics Specialist Location: Houston, TX 77024 Type: Contract Experience Required: 3–6 years Overview: We are seeking a Clinical Informatics Specialist to bridge clinical operations and IT, enhancing patient safety, documentation quality, and EHR usability. This role partners closely with nursing and provider leadership to drive EHR adoption, streamline workflows, and support high-quality clinical care. Key Responsibilities: Assess current clinical workflows and design technology-driven improvements that reduce documentation burden and support patient safety. Conduct clinician engagement rounds, point-of-care assessments, and requirements gathering. Configure and maintain EHR elements such as order sets, documentation templates, and best practice advisories; collaborate with clinical SMEs to validate changes. Lead readiness assessments and provide post-go-live training, optimization, and support. Work with analytics, quality, and informatics teams to define metrics, validate data integrity, and support performance improvement initiatives. Contribute to training development by creating role-based curricula, instructional content, and job aids. Required Qualifications: Clinical background (RN, LPN, or equivalent clinical experience) strongly preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience supporting EHR or clinical information systems. Epic experience strongly preferred (ClinDoc, Order Composer, BPA). Strong communication, facilitation, and change-management skills. Experience in clinical decision support, order set governance, documentation optimization, or related domains.
