The Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Inspector for our Transportation-Construction management (T-CM) Practice in Fort Lauderdale, FL. As a Senior Inspector you will observe the contractors work to determine the progress and quality of work on construction projects.Essential Functions:Identify discrepancies, report significant discrepancies to supervisor, and direct the Contractor to correct such observed discrepanciesWork independently, under general supervision, exercising advanced judgment in the application of standard methodologies and procedures for complex projectsPerform highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making, and checking engineering computationsInspecting construction work and conducting field tests and is responsible for coordinating and managing lower level inspectorsReads and interprets contract documents (plans and specifications) to determine if the contractor’s work is in substantial compliance with the contract documents. May make and/or check engineering computationsMaintains detailed accurate records of the Contractor’s daily operations and of significant events that affect workInspect construction workPerform sampling and field testing of component materials and completed work in accordance with the Construction Contract documentsGuide junior inspectors, as needed or directedSome travel may be requiredMinimum Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalentMinimum of 7 years relevant experiencePrior experience in construction inspection, including exposure to bridge and/or roadway construction inspection, or a Civil Engineering degree with the ability to earn additional required qualifications within one yearMust have materials sampling and testing certifications as required by the scope of work of the projectAbility to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods, under various outside conditionsAbility to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasksAbility to use construction or inspection safety equipment including fall protectionAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and shake up to 20 poundsPreferred Qualifications/Certifications:ACI Level 1CTQP Concrete Field Level 1CTQP Earthwork Level 1 and 2CTQP Paving level 1 and 2CTQP Final Estimates Level 1MOT intermediate or aboveNPDES Stormwater InspectorBenefits:Paid Vacation, Personal Time Off, and Holiday Pay401(k) with Company MatchMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceCertification and Licensure SupportCareer Advancement OpportunitiesPet InsuranceCellphone StipendCompany VehicleAnd much more
