Founded in 1925, Volkert is celebrating a century of serving our employees, clients, partners, and communities. We are currently searching for an experienced Construction Engineering Inspector/Technician with relevant industry certifications to join our team in St. Louis, MO, or surrounding area.As a CEI Inspector/Technician, work is primarily routine and standardized inspection work which may include manual or electronic calculations and computations. You will perform independent inspection and documentation of construction processes and our team to assure compliance with the construction contract. Guidance to accomplish assignments is provided by higher level Inspectors, Project Engineers, or Resident Engineers.What you’ll be doing:Making and checking engineering computationsDocumenting/Inspecting construction workMaterials testing in the fieldInspection of truck load tickets for aggregate, asphalt, or concreteWriting daily inspection reports, performing verification testing, and documenting test results and observationsPerforming SWPPP inspectionsAssisting in all types of record keeping and field measurements, as neededWork is performed under the general supervision of the Resident Engineer and/or Construction Engineering and Inspection ManagerWhat you need to have:High School Diploma or equivalentTwo (2) years of experience in construction inspection, any prior experience in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection is preferredSome MoDOT and/or local agency inspection experience is a plusMust have a valid driver’s license and immediate ability to work in the United StatesMust be able to work nights and weekends as requiredMust apply safety philosophy and program to all operationsAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana.
